MRWG Awards Waterwise Superstars!

Apr 10, 2018 at 3:23pm

Carmel Elementary students, Kairi Oldenkott and Alyssa Ferrolatta, pose with their “Top Water Awards.”

Every year our organization recognizes students from Hesperia Unified School District (HUSD) and Apple Valley Unified School District (AVUSD) that dedicate their science fair projects to the protection and conservation of our earth’s most precious resource, our water supply! The winners from each school district receive the “Top Water Award.”

Winners from AVUSD, Kimy Alexi Buere, Kavish Loomba and Sierra Franco, are the high school award winners who dedicated their project to developing a device that could cost-effectively purify water for underdeveloped countries. From HUSD science fair winners, Kairi Oldenkott and Alyssa Ferrolatta focused on the shortage of freshwater readily available around the world and brought attention to various solar methods that could convert saltwater into fresh, drinkable water.
