Spring cleaning season can be hectic and sometimes, we don’t stop to realize that our community needs cleaning too. Whether you’ve volunteered in the past or are new to the job, this step-by-step guide will help you make an impact on your community for #NationalVolunteerMonth!

1. Follow your local community pages, including your neighboring cities and coalitions. Any clean-up events are usually posted to social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Below are some we recommend in the High Desert community:

2. RSVP if applicable and mark your calendar so you don’t forget! This will hold you accountable and make you more likely to follow through on your commitment.
3. Show up on time and have fun! You can also invite friends and family to volunteer for extra help. The more the merrier!
4. Thank the organizer! Organizing a volunteer day takes hard work and passion, so make sure you thank the organization and don’t forget to ask about future events or meetings.
