Incredible local organizations you are not going to want to miss out on knowing.

The Mojave River Watershed Group is a firm believer in the mantra “it takes a village.” The work done to protect and preserve our watershed could not be done alone, and we want to shine the light on some great local non-profit organizations that are constantly doing their part to help keep the Mojave River Watershed pollution-free.

Don’t Trash Our Desert

Don’t Trash Our Desert is a coalition of private citizens and public agencies that have united to help promote a public awareness campaign aimed at keeping our desert clean and free of litter, illegal dumping and other debris. They hold various “Meet & Clean” events and spread awareness about other local events that help keep the High Desert clean.

High Desert Keepers

The High Desert suffers from a large amount of illegal dumping. High Desert Keepers was formed to deal with these problems quickly and directly, and also to develop programs designed to aid law enforcement in the prosecution of illegal dumping. The High Desert Keepers make every effort to dramatically minimize, or stop completely, the act of illegal dumping in the High Desert.

Mojave Environmental Education Consortium

The mission of the MEEC is to connect teachers and educators with the tools, information, and resources they need to improve the environmental literacy of their students. All of their services are free and are a collective effort to better serve school communities of the Mojave Desert.
