According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), COVID-19 does not present a threat to the safety of our water supply. The treatment process includes multiple steps for filtration and disinfection to remove viruses, including coronaviruses and other pathogens and bacteria. The EPA will continue to support states and cities that are taking proactive measures to monitor the treated water to ensure that it meets, or surpasses, all federal and state drinking water standards. This means that we can continue to be stormwater savvy by drinking our water straight from the tap! On behalf of our organization, thank you to the High Desert community for following recommended guidelines to stay at home, practice social distancing and wash your hands. Together, we can flatten the curve! We look forward to see you all out in our beautiful community very soon.
