Sustainable snack recipe the whole family will love.

Whether you’re going on a hike or preparing a weekday snack, trail mix is always a great option to keep you energized and alert. Choosing to make your own snacks can significantly reduce plastic packaging from littering our community. Trail mix with dried fruit offers a healthy source of fiber and micronutrients, and nuts are a healthy source of fats and protein.

To make your own trail mix, start by investing in a few glass mason jars and reuse these containers after every batch. Although container sizes may vary, we suggest you keep your nuts/dried fruit/add-ons ratio at 3:2:1 for optimal taste. Get creative and toss in your favorite add-on ingredients like pretzels or chocolate chips.

Simple Mix

Nuts
Cashews
Almonds

Fruit
Dried Apricots
Blueberries

Add-ons
Pretzels
Granola
Chocolate Chips

Once you have your assortment, mix all ingredients together and pour into a mason jar or preferred reusable container. Who knew being stormwater savvy could be so delicious!
