Most of us drive our cars on a daily basis. After excess use, wear and tear is bound to happen. Things like oil leaks, brake shavings, and dripping coolant can harm our watershed. Regular inspections and maintenance can make a big difference when it comes to keeping our watershed clean.
Get a Check-Up
Mark your calendars and take your car in for a regular tune up. Leaks cause pollutants to enter our waterways leaving our watershed exposed to irreparable damage. Use a drip pan to catch any harmful fluids if you decide to fix your car at home, or support any of the following local mechanics.

Unlike your driveway, car washes have drainage systems that catch all of the soap and grime coming off your vehicle and then recycle the water to prevent runoff. If you must wash your car at home, make sure you use a non-toxic soap and a water shut-off nozzle to prevent excess runoff.
